A Vision for Safer, Smarter Baby Feeding.
Our client -- a growing European baby-care brand -- approached YMS with a bold creative brief: design a modular silicone feeding set that combines a divided plate, suction base and detachable spoon holder, all in one piece.
The product had to be 100% food-grade, dishwasher and microwave safe, strong enough to resist toddler pulling force, and visually distinctive on crowded e-commerce shelves. The challenge: no existing mold or reference product on the market.

03 · Development Challenges
Four Critical Hurdles to Overcome.
Before mold cutting began, our engineering team mapped out every potential failure point -- structural, material, process and compliance.
Multi-Cavity Structural Integrity
A single-piece plate with three food compartments and a reinforced suction base risks wall-thickness variation, trapped air and uneven curing during molding.
Suction Strength vs. Easy Release
The base must adhere firmly to prevent toddler spills (>8kg pull resistance) yet release cleanly for parents -- a precise durometer and geometry balance.
Pastel Color Consistency
Four pastel SKUs required Pantone-matched tones across every batch, with zero yellowing after dishwasher cycles and UV exposure testing.
Multi-Market Compliance
Simultaneous certification against FDA (US), LFGB (EU), and CPSIA -- each with distinct migration and physical testing protocols.

From Sketch to Structural Blueprint.
Our in-house industrial design team translated the client's brief into 3D CAD models, running structural simulations to validate wall thickness, draft angles and ergonomic grip zones.

06 · Sample Iteration
Testing, Refining, Perfecting.
Each sample round validated form, function and safety against the client's specification sheet and international standards. Nothing shipped until every box was ticked.
Round 1 · T1 Sample
Initial Prototype
First-shot samples delivered 3 days after mold completion. Dimensional check revealed suction base thickness variance.
Round 2 · T2 Sample
Function Testing
Suction pull test, drop test from 1.5m, dishwasher cycle × 50. Minor gate location adjustment made.
Round 3 · PP Sample
Color Approval
Pre-production samples in all 4 pastel colors. Pantone verification, UV aging & high-temp cycling complete.
Round 4 · Final
Client Sign-Off
Golden sample signed and sealed. Reference standard for every subsequent production batch.

Production ran across four LSR injection machines with dedicated QC inspectors stationed on every line. Our ISO 9001 SOP governs every step from material weighing to final packaging.
